Hold Me Down

Aotearoa trailblazer JessB shares her effortless new single “Hold Me Down” via Say Less and Warner Music Australia. JessB’s signature flow levitates above melodic synths and rhythmic swagger to deliver an infectious track for the Summer.
Of the new single, JessB shares: “This song is essentially a manifestation for the type of (romantic) love that I want. Speaking it into existence! The beat was produced by Dera Meelan and has a laid back summer vibe to it which feels like a nice way to close out the year.”
“Hold Me Down” arrives ahead of festival slots this Summer including Subsonic, Beyond The Valley, Field Day and Northern Bass. Please find below the list of live dates for JessB.
In further news, it is announced today that JessB signs to Say Less – a joint venture with Warner Music Australia – home to R&B superstar PANIA, Australian singer-songwriter Bobi Andonov and rising hip-hop talent ASM Keeno.
“As we continue to strengthen our Australian and New Zealand roster with artists we genuinely believe can have a global impact, I’m thrilled to welcome JessB to WMA via our partnership with the Say Less label” says Dan Rosen, Warner Music Australasia President.
“We’ve been fans of Jess for a long time, and are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work on her forthcoming album, with some really impressive collaborations. We can’t wait to work together to build the next phase of her career.”
As one of Aotearoa’s most influential artists, JessB has collaborated with the likes of Saweetie, Doja Cat, G Flip and Baker Boy. Her imposing and stylistic form has accumulated over 20 million streams across her impressive catalogue and praise from music and culture tastemakers Afropunk, Acclaim, NME, Sniffers and VICE just to name a few. JessB has also delivered dynamic live shows at major festivals including SXSW, The Great Escape, Listen Out and Laneway and has shared the stage with internationally renowned artists including Stormzy, Kehlani and Genesis Owusu.
Earlier in the year, JessB released the high-energy, Afro Pop infused single “Moment” which was recently remixed to feature New York dancehall artist Kranium. The original track received radio playlists across Australia and New Zealand and support from international media including C-Heads from Berlin, ColoursxStudio, Rolling Stone NZ and MTV Australia. JessB then teamed up with Trinidadian-born, Sydney-based artist Gold Fang for the hypnotic dancehall collaboration “Ring Ring” which saw the two artists perform sold-out show across Australia and New Zealand. Originally written and recorded in Amsterdam, JessB enlisted Amsterdam-based rapper Zulu Green for a remix of the track alongside a vibrant music video.
With a promise of more to come in 2024, JessB continues to push the boundaries of her sound and songwriting finesse. She has cemented her status as a reckoning force on a global music stage.
